As Cairns residents, we have always known about the Walkamin Caravan Park but last night experienced what it has to offer first hand. Left the van behind and booked into one of the very comfortable self contained cabins. Spotlessly clean and everything you would need for a week or just an overnighter. The van park consists of neat sprawling lawns, beautiful gardens, a great camp kitchen, and good clean amenities. No pads for vans but not needed. It allows vanners to choose their own spot facing whichever way they like. The park is a short drive out of the regional town of Mareeba and is on the main highway. I thought maybe the night transports might be a problem but no....we slept like babies. Reception staff were friendly and welcoming and we can't wait to go back and spend a little longer. Might take the van next time. Thanks for a great little getaway. Highly recommended.

I am a new park resident and from day one I have been welcomed by all, and my travel buddy has been coming here since 2014 and I am so in love with the park and comradely by all comers from overnighters to long term caravan residents who come back each for weeks or months. The ammenities are kept in a first class clean condition, the evening meeting area is second to none one of the residents lights a wonderful fire and everyone is welcomed to sit around the fire and talk about their day. the COVID-19 has created a lack of closeness and intimacy, but the Managers and Owners are exercising the COVIDSafe distancing rules and ensure they are abided by with in the park, the residents uphold all rules put in place by the managers and owners. The Park has recently been sold and the new owners are a wonderful couple, they have a new vision for the park, they have blended in with all the residents, and introduced themselves with evening in park. This park has been a well kept secret from what I have been told and h as been a word of mouth park, All I have met and talked to over the six weeks I have been here I am still amazed at the friendliness of everyone in the park.

ThIs caravan park was just perfect, we had a late at night request and nothing was to hard for the beautiful couple managing the park. Instead of an overnight stay my partner and I stayed for 5 nights, the cabin was great and the park accepted us having our two dogs as well . I can't thank our hosts enough we don't want to leave

We have stayed at this wonderful van park many times and at the moment on our way to stay once again there, it is just the best park in queensland

Stayed for 3 months in 2014, on recommendation of a mate, THE BEST caravan park in Oz (in my opinion). We will return again this year for the southern winter.

My wife Pattie and myself have travelled Australia in our 5th wheeler, and, stayed at many caravan parks. Some that were great, and some very average, what they all did not have was the friendliness of both management and guests that you will find at Walkamin Central, not to mention the modern and cleanliness of the abloution blocks, and the BEST camp kitchen. You stay once and you too will keep going back as we have for the past 5 years. We will be back there again May or June this year.
