It is a large picturesque water-hole shaded by white trunked gums. During the cooler winter months it attracts quite a few dusty travellers looking for a respite from the Canning. It is an easier location to access than the Desert Queen Baths. Tjingkulatjatjarra Pool would provide good camping here.
As at July, 2009, the beautiful Tjarra Pool is dry. Not a drop of water remains below it's sheltering gums. The dry spell since 2006 has taken its toll on the south, west and east of the park. Watrara Pool is now only a scummy pool a couple of metres across. No.11 Pool, Curran Curran and all the Rudall River soaks like Kalkan Klakan Soak are dry also. DQB remains the only place with permanent water.
