Maxwelton Rest Area - Maxwelton QLD
The Maxwelton Rest Area is located on the Flinders Highway at Maxwelton is 1753km north west of Brisbane. The trip takes approximately 18 hours and 46 minutes, although slower if you are towing a heavy van or large rig. Do not drink the water at this rest stop. Amenities are clean. Some traffic noise is unavoidable in this place due to the proximity of the Flinders Highway. Trucks stop at the rest area during the night.

We stayed here overnight in early July 2016. The rest area is all bitumen and all facilities were well maintained and in good order. Has M/F/unisex/disabled toilets (4) ...no showers. The rest area is close to the main road and has a truck parking bay on opposite side of the main road. The road was not busy overnight although two or three large road trains stopped and rested across the road for various times without disturbing anyone.
