The Salt Creek Rest Area is located in Petermann which is 1,860km of Darwin. It is true to say that this location is right in the centre of Australia. A great spot to visit for those with a sense of adventure.

Have stayed here on two different trips about three years apart. Area appears to be kept clean and bins emptied etc. It is a large rest area, is flat enough and has some shady trees, some tables and water is available from a small concrete tank. Area is situated away from the main road to Kings Canyon and provides good access for all manner of vehicles.
