Oakridge Motel and Caravan Park is a well laid out and maintained park. The motel is at the back of the property well away from the road. There are powered and unpowered sites available for caravans, campers and motorhomes. Amenities are excellent except for the camp kitchen which is very small. Roads within the park are sealed and there is plenty of room to manoeuvre your van or motorhome. Some traffic noise is unavoidable due to the location of the park on the Warrego Highway. Bookings can be made by telephoning the park and please tell the park that you have seen their photos on Caravan Park Photos. Photos on this page were taken on the 14th August 2011.

While at Oakey visit the Australian Army Flying museum. It is located at the local airstrip which was a base in WW1 and WW2. The museum is housed in a large hanger and has on display several aircraft from way back, box kites to modern day types. See the Fokka tri-plane replica used for the movie about the red baron. See other bi-planes and a Boomerang fighter, and several army helicopters. There is a collection of guns, medals, photos and stories about the men and women who fought during the various wars. Outside there is 5 Caribou aircraft, very well loved and very useful planes when they were in service. There is a small gift shop and there are BBQs and picnic tables outside.. At the time we went it was only $7 per adult. A very well presented and interesting museum well worth a visit. The town of Oakey is a typical country town with an IGA and other shops. It is situated a nice drive through farm land from Toowoomba.
