"We were there in August 2009 and took these pics. Shows me and my wife Jeannette and
some of our party in Iron Clad Hotel and some shots of the actual Marble Bar.
Marble Bar was an unexpected highlight of our trip around the North West of Australia. It is off the main coastal highway about 180kms but the scenery and drive into Marble Bar is very pretty and always interesting with the many mining road train triples, travelling up and down this road every day.
The camp ground is fairly basic although we chose to stay in the upper campground area where the lighting is poor and there is virtually no power available (one light pole with power available). There are powered sites on the lower level with water available.
The shower/toilet blocks were of reasonable standard and cleanliness and the park manager was very helpful.
We visited the Iron Clad Hotel for a cold beer in the afternoon and spent a morning out at the very remarkable Marble Bar, which is actually a rocky outcrop of Jasper in the Coongan River. It is a remarkable town with many historic buildings and well worth the detour off the main coastal road for a one or two night stop-over".
