Bridgetown Caravan Park - Bridgetown WA

Note: review and photos are a little aged now and it seems that the park is even better.

There are great reviews of the park and the owners everywhere - very "chilled owners" and great park - they even arranged for an ice cream truck on a warm day.

Jan and Bob Pearce recently stayed at the Bridgetown Caravan Park and sent the following report and photos:

"These are some pics of the Bridgetown Caravan Park we stayed at recently which is situated right beside the Blackwood River. The park has a central area, with sites around the edge, which is all bitumen and many lawned sites. There are two small (3 toilets and 3 showers in each) amenities blocks. They are old but well maintained and very clean. It has new owners who are out and about doing the gardens and getting the park ship shape.

The park has several new cabins overlooking the river. As it was winter (August) when we were there and the area had experienced a lot of rain the river had flooded and was flowing quite fast. Our site backed on to the high bank of the river. There was a boardwalk out to the river centre but it was under water.

The highway to Manjimup runs beside the park but noise was minimal. The price for a site per night per 2 adults was $20. The towns population is 4,091. We stayed for two nights but could have stayed longer if time had permitted. Bridgetown is the only heritage listed town in the south west of WA and had plenty of old buildings, cafes, shops and art galleries to spend time in."
