Lakeside St Clair is located on the shores of Australia’s deepest natural freshwater lake (200 metres) in the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area. Here, you can stay in two-bedroom cabins, tucked among the forest. Accommodating up to six people, the loft-style cabins feature gas or wood heating, a fully-equipped kitchen, bathroom and lounge. Enjoy views of the lake from the sheltered campsites—suitable for caravans, motor homes or tents. The powered and unpowered sites are close to amenities including a communal kitchen, bathroom and laundry. Groups can stay in the dormitory accommodation, also with stunning views of the lake and including a fully-equipped communal kitchen, separate male and female bathrooms and a laundry.
Lakeside St Clair has a restaurant, café and bar, store, internet access, and camping and equipment hire. Make sure you visit the on-site National Park Visitor Centre for information on bushwalking and the ecology and history of the area.
