Katoomba Falls Caravan Park - Katoomba NSW

One of the pleasant surprises that you experience when you enter the Katoomba Falls Caravan Park is a cheery "hello" from a silver crested cockatoo near the office. He sets the tone for what is a pleasant and friendly park. The park is located at Katoomba Falls Road, Katoomba. The park is owned by the Blue Mountains City Council and run by Ken and Val Dowling who are enthusiastic and friendly. Facilities are very good and the slabs on the power sites are well made with easy access. Some nice timber cottages are available for rent. The park is within easy walking distance to Scenic World which contains the Skyway, Cableway and the steepest railway ride in the world. The resident managers are Ken and Val Dowling. Bookings can be made by telephoning the park and please tell the park that you have seen their photos on Caravan Park Photos. Photos on this page were taken on 5th September 2006.

Park managers are truely great people who regularly walk the park to see if everyone is happy and have any problems. Emenities block was nice and clean and generally the park was good overall. While we were there there was ongoing improvements happening, new cabins being built and a new camp kitchen already complete. Strangely, you are required to park your caravan or motor home on the conctete pad and step out onto grass or as most sites were, a worn dip in the ground of dirt. So if you put your awning up you dont walk on the concrete pad as is the norm, but grass and dirt. Some sites were all concrete, van site and anex, which is fine but there was no bare ground to put in pegs to hold down an awning or anex. When we were there we stayed on a powered site but soon there will be 4 ensuite sites available. Site fees were a little expensive but the location was exellent because the 3 sisters are very close by and so is the scenic railway and cable car. You can do a variety of walks without taking your car out of the caravan park. Katoomba township itself is very close and gets all your shopping needs covered. It is the best caravan park to stay in the area.
