Ilfracombe Caravan Park - Ilfracombe QLD
The
Ilfracombe Caravan Park is located at Main Ave Ilfracombe. The park has powered and unpowered sites. The park is pet friendly. Resident Managers are Jesse and Cathryn Hitson. Bookings can be made by
telephoning the park and please tell the park that you have seen their information on Caravan Park Photos.
Photos and report on this page were supplied by our roving reporter Jan Pearce in June 2010.
Jan writes: "We had a few days at the Ilfracomb Caravan Park in May. It is a casual park 27km east of Longreach on the Landsborough Highwy. The owners Jessie and Kath are great hosts. Most nights Kath passes around biscuits and a dip and Jessie talks about the history of the park and also tells some wonderful stories and jokes. The Wellshot Hotel a short walk from the park has great meals with a cafe for the popular capachino only a little walk away also. There is a mile of older machinery to take a look at and plenty of other attractions to look into making a stay of a few days worthwhile. It is also a good base to have a look around Longreach. The price per night was $24."

My husband and I were so pleased we decided to stay here this time in preference to Longreach. What an amazing, friendly place. we were also lucky in that the sheep shearing competitions were on at the pub next door - certainly a great event to watch. Once again we looked at the mile long machinery exhibition and enjoyed every moment. thank you to the chef for the great evening meal which was preceeded by Kath's poetry recital - this is a must for all to experience, well done kath! A really fantastic, small park with lots of character. keep up the great work and we look forward to visiting again. Thank You :)

Well, we have recently stayed in this park and as the owners Jessie and Kathy were away their relief managers Steve and Marelyn were looking after everything...and we can tell you we would 100% recommend this park to everyone!!! From the moment we got there we were greeted by the manager's like we were friends and had come to visit...you just don't get that kind of service and welcome much at all these days. We had intended to stay for only 2 or 3 days but ended up staying 7!!! amenities spotless grounds and gardens very well kept and even though the park was not overly busy there was still a great time had by all at happy hour each night. Nothing and we mean nothing was a problem and as we had our 2 showdogs with us steve and Marelyn looked after them for us while we went to do all the touristy things each day, actually we now have made new friends whilst staying at this park. Thank you so much as it made our holiday just so memorable!!!

A credit to you Kathy, Jesse and family, one of the best parks we've been in and happy hour has been a definite highlight of our trip. We will spread the word, only regret we are so far away, but we will be back, keep up the good work!!

A neat little park that all caravaners should experience - originally a base for our Longreach visit turned out to be one of the highlights of our Queensland holiday. Full credit to Kath and Jessie

Stayed in many caravan parks from WA to Queensland but this one gets the medal, the best happy hour and the most friendly hosts Jessie and Cath make you feel very welcome,

What a place! Not knowing what to expect, it was a treat to meet some down to earth people, friends were made to many to mention. The hosts Jesse and Cath were just what was needed to unwind and have some laughs. Arriving at Olympics Van Park time was packed full of fun for the whole week including State of Origin match with lots of supporters on both sides. Ilfracombe Van Park is a must.
