Getting there: There are many walking tracks into the park. Get there on public transport, or drive to one of the suburbs surrounding the park.
Bookings: Booking is essential, fees payable in advance. WALK IN ONLY : Closest point to drive and park is on sealed roads, from there it is on foot to the campsite. 32.5 km SW of Sydney. Near Lake Eckerskley. There is a long walk into this campsite. There are a total of 2 campsites. This is a very small campsite, a basic clearing near the shore of Lake Eckersley. There are no facilities and probably only room for two tents. This is the quietest and most peaceful of the campsites in Heathcote National Park. The shady area is on the bank of the Woronora River and is only accessible by foot. Water from the lake needs to be treated before use, or campers need to carry in drinking water. A small sandy beach provides access to the water for swimming. The site needs to be booked and paid for before use.
