A nice park but watch out for the turkeys if you park close to water. They get up in the trees at night and your van is a total mess in the morning.

Cotton Tree caravan park is the oldest park in Queensland. It began as a camp ground in the 1800s. A very popular park it has heritage status. Bookings required to get a water front site. I have never seen an empty spot yet! The park sits right next to the river which offers good clean safe swimming and has easy walking access to the beach and the town. The park is simple and there are many trees and not a lot of grass. It is mostly sandy and the sites close to the water are fairly close together. Most have concrete annex slabs. All roads are sealed. There are 2 amenities block which have just been renovated. There is a wheel chair friendly bathroom. There is no pool or games room or playground but it is not needed when there is the water so close by. There is however next door an Olympic size swimming pool complex with kids pool. Because the park is so liked by families there are always lots of kids in the park. The rear of the park is more suited if you want a quieter stay but you are still close to the beach. However the park backs onto a fairy busy road and those sites are not popular. There a some cabins on offer to rent which are in good condition. Suitable for big rigs (not on water front) and there is a dump point. Some of the gutters are a bit deep so care has to be taken when reversing your caravan.
