Newmarket Gardens Caravan Park - Ashgrove Brisbane QLD
The Newmarket Gardens Caravan Park is located at 199 Ashgrove Avenue, Ashgrove only a few minutes from the center of Brisbane (4km to be precise). The park is relatively quiet for a city facility and the setting is very relaxed. Staff are always friendly and helpful. I have personally stayed at Newmarket Gardens a number of times and it is my park of choice when in Brisbane. There are 100 tourist sites and the park is close to shops, clubs, hospital, the Ballymore and Suncorp Stadium and RNA Showgrounds. Ensute cabins (including one especially designed for those in wheelchairs), lodge rooms and on-site vans are also available. The resident managers are Derek and Robyn Rossiter. The park is not fancy but neat and tidy with a good amenities block that was clean and is in the centre of the park. There is a good laundry and a small camp kitchen with a big double door fridge. There is an internet hut with one computer and there is a coffee machine in there as well as tourist information brochures and books. Every powered site has a concrete slab. There is not a lot of shade trees in the park. There is a small under cover BBQ area which is popular with the campers. There is boom gate entry. The roads are all one way and fairly narrow so can be a little hard to back into your site if you have a big van but we coped with our 18 foot van. It doesn't help that there is no room to park your car next to your van so it makes it a little tight because cars are parked in front of the vans. There is no play ground or pool so the park does not attract families as much so is nice and quiet. There is a tennis court. There are many on site caravans for rent which is unusual these days but they are clean and in good condition. There are also several small but neat cabins, one with wheel chair access. We would stay again because it is in a good location and is neat and quiet. Turn left as you leave the park and about a km or so away is Woolworths, Coles and several other good shops in quite a nice shopping centre with under ground parking.
