Robinley Caravan Park - Bendigo Maiden Gully VIC

Pet Friendly

The Robinley Caravan Park is a small park situated in Maiden Gully on the Calder Highway 7km from the centre of the city. The park has 60 sites of which 48 are for tourists. Supplies can be purchased from the small shopping centre adjacent to the park. The Calder Highway to Mildura is fairly busy so some traffic noise will be unavoidable. Powered sites are towards the rear of the park away from the highway. Your hosts are Craig & Fiona Wirth. Bookings can be made by telephoning the park and please tell the park that you have seen their photos on Caravan Park Photos. Photos on this page were taken on 25th May 2006.

We have stayed at this park a number of times and only had contact with the lady owner and there were never any issues.
On the last occasion we met the male owner and it was not a pleasant stay this time. He complained that we were putting waste water from our sink onto the grass and claimed the council classified that water as "black". He extended our hose to a drain point initially but I put a bucket under the outlet so no further issue. Water from a sink is "grey" water and this is the first park that we have been to where they do not allow this sink water onto their grass. By the way they are trying to grow the grass in this park so water should be welcome.

We have two dogs who are extremely well behaved, and we always follow the camp rules with them. The male owner was doing some handy work and as we were driving out to go to town he began running over to us waving a piece of timber and made us stop. My wife found this a little scary. Anyway he asked if we had the dogs in the car and I curtly told him to look in the back. He said that he thought that we had left the golden retriever in the caravan because he was a large dog and may not fit in the car. Where does he think we put the dog when we travel with the van, on a lead and he runs behind the car!! I thought his logic and lack of trust in us was disturbing.

I think that I have said enough and tried to keep these comments pragmatic but I was not happy with his attitude. He later apologised and said that he did not want to upset us but it was too late.
