Wodonga is situated on the south bank of the Murray River on the NSW Victorian border. The city has a population of 32,000 people and is located 306km north-east of Melbourne. The town was named Wodonga in 1860. Wodonga is an aboriginal word meaning "bullrushes". The city boasts many sporting activities including horse racing, bowls, golf, tennis, squash and fishing. There are many scenic drives close to the city.
