Shepparton is located on the Goulburn River 182km north of Melbourne. With a population over 27,000 people in the town and over 60,000 in the municipality, it is the 5th largest city in Victoria.

The area is famous for fruit growing and has one of Australia's largest processor of canned fruit which is mainly distributed under the brand name SPC. Education and road transport are also major contributors to the local economy.
