State Rose Garden Newton Park - Toowoomba QLD

Newtown Park, situated on the western side of Toowoomba has excellent volcanic soil and cooling breezes which provide an ideal environment for the planting and growing of roses. The "Friends of the Rose Garden" do an enormous amount of voluntary work to preserve this lovely area. The historic park was purchased in 1912 by the Toowoomba Garden. The roses stay healthy without excessive spraying. The park has many grand trees and wide open spaces. A number of shelters near the rose garden allow visit to enjoy the fragrance and beauty of the garden free from discomfort.
