Steve describes the course and experience as follows:
"We visited Tasmania in July mid winter. We stayed in Launceston, and on the 23rd decided to do a day trip to Burnie and Wynyard. The surroundings were covered with frost and many of the mountains that we passed on the way were capped with snow. As the day progressed the sky's cleared. Life doesn't get much better than this. Myself and the beautiful wife decided that a game of golf would be an appropriate way to cap such a perfect day. We were travelling into Wynyard along the picturesque Bass Strait Coast. We noticed a lovely golf course and decided that was the location for our golfing for the day. The course is located across the road from Bass Strait, and the greenery and wild flowers were beautiful. We were even lucky enough to meet up with the local rabbit who was so tame I could have patted it.
The course was well maintained and quite challenging. It was Saturday but there didn't seem to be any problem in accommodating our visit. We didn't feel rushed and after our game was complete we went into the club house for a pie a drink and a friendly chat with the local golfers. A VERY FRIENDLY BUNCH OF PEOPLE. The history of the club appears to date back to the 1920's.
I intend to return in the near future to play here again and time permitting I certainly would like to experience more of the golfing treasures available in Tasmania."
