Main Campground - Mungo National Park NSW

Basic camping facilities including pit toilets, tables and fireplaces are provided in the Main Camp which is loacted near the Arumpo Road park entrance. Camping fees are payable at the Mungo National Park visitors centre about 1km away.
A pleasant 1km walk from the main camping area is called The Grassland Nature Trail. There are some lovely Mallee trees in this location.
Main Camp at Mungo NP with large campsites, fireplaces and plenty of room for large and smaller caravans, camper trailers and or tents. Gas BBQ's under cover are also available. Hot showers and firewood available at Mungo Information Office near the woolshed. One photo (main one) is of Belah Camp.

This is known as the Main Camp at Mungo with very clean toilet facilities, firewood available at Information Block, hot showers available and cabin accommodation. Rangers are always very helpful. The Mungo NP Visitor Centre is open every day and provides visitors with all the information you need to get an understanding of what the park protects and how you can enrich your exploration of certain park features.
Visitors camping in either of the parks 2 camp areas need to fill out a self-registration form here and can pick up a map and guide-trail of the self-guided 70km driving tour that provides an opportunity to explore a large area of the park.
The Visitors Centre can be found 11Okm north-east of Mildura via Buronga along the Arumpo Road, or 147 km north-west of Balranald. All roads are unsealed and are impassable after rain. A detailed information package is available from the Buronga office or the website. Vehicle entry fee applies.

Mungo and the Willandra Lakes World Heritage Area are magnificently spectacular, especially at sunset on the Walls Of China! The area has a vast, almost unbelievable, historic past and is an extremely interesting landscape with scrub land, dry clay pans and pristine white all rolled into one! This campground has flat gravel sites.
This campground is a great overnight spot for people taking their time doing the Mungo Drive Tour, or for those looking for a secluded campsite. No fires are allowed.
Getting there: This campground is half way around the park's one-way drive tour. The route includes unpaved roads, generally suitable for 2WD cars, though roads may become impassable in wet weather.
Facilities: picnic tables, non-flush toilets
Water supply: There is a dam here, supplied by surface runoff. Campsite is accessible by unsealed roads usually fine for 2wd vehicle in the dry, but may not be passable after rain
The campsite is about 2km south of the visitors' centre on Arumpo Road.

There are a total of 33 campsites
Visitors can walk to the dry lake or explore the walks in the area.
