Kyneton is a town of 4,000 people situated 84km north west of Melbourne. The town has many beautiful historic buildings many of them made from bluestone. The Kyneton Caravan Park was situated in a quiet street well away from traffic noise in the Botanical Gardens. This was a very pleasant park and although the weather was freezing when I visited I would have loved to have stayed here for a few days had time permitted. The park had good amenities, spacious powered sites and was close to lovely open parkland and the Kyneton Railway Station. The park officially closed on the 6th April, 2010. Read
blog post for more information. Alternative Caravan Park accommodation can be found at
Castlemaine,
Daylesford or
Creswick. Photos on this page were taken on 28th May 2006. When you visit Kyneton make sure you play the local
Kyneton Golf Course.
