This caravan park was a great place to stay. Very relaxing, ignore the other reviews. Some people have no idea how hard it is to run a business these days. I found the owners friendly and the showers were clean and nice and hot. Sure there are probably some insects around but this can happen when camping anywhere. The owners shouldn't have to put up with a bad review based on things out of their control. If you don't like camping then don't go camping. If you're looking for a relaxing place to stay in Gippsland that doesn't cost a fortune then I recommend Blore's Hill caravan park any day. Nice walking tracks, a great lake just up the road and pet friendly.

I am thoroughly disappointed to say the least. After sleeping in a caravan here, my daughter woke up with 10 red blotches on her face, and 5 on her back. After researching what these spots looked like (Adding to this, my career is in research so I know very well what to look for) we immediately matched her spots to those of bedbugs (they were identical and she displayed all the symptoms of having them). We were in our cabin by 6pm the prior evening and tucked in for the night with all doors and windows firmly shut, and no signs of any bugs or flying insects in the cabin (if there were, I would have been the first to be bitten as mosquitoes love me!). Come morning once I saw my daughter's face, we cleaned our cabin meticulously (as courteous people do despite the circumstances) and proceeded to see the owner to advise her of the issue, hoping she would act on this and either replace the mattresses or have an exterminator come out, to prevent this problem from re-occurring. We had stayed 1/2 of our booked nights and relocated incurring additional costs. I asked the lady who was working if she could refund me the night's money for which we did not stay. The woman, with a rude tone, stated "you can't prove it - looks like mozzie bites to me. You know we have different mozzies in Glenmaggie." I responded with "I have been a regular visitor to Glenmaggie for the last 5 years and have never had an issue with spots such as these on my child, mosquito bites yes, but not these peculiar looking blotches." The woman said with an arrogant tone "Go to the doctor and prove it". It was the Easter weekend - clearly no doctors were open. 2 days later and my daughter now has blistering sores and red welts on her face which have enlarged, and likewise on her back. Her skin is "burning" and extremely itchy. She is very self conscious of these (as I would be if I had 10 large welts on my face!) and is immensely uncomfortable. For a business owner not to refund a simple one night's tariff of $65 given the nature of the issue involving the health and well-being of an 8 year old child, is beyond unethical. I was not asking for a full refund, nor any additional compensation, purely a $65 refund to assist in covering the extra costs due to relocating. We are visiting a doctor on Tuesday (as soon as they re-open after the Easter break) and will be then going back to this business with our doctor's certificate and their prognosis of what likely left my daughter in the state she is in. This is unacceptable and I would not wish any other children, nor adults alike, to experience what my daughter is experiencing. An apology, refund, and acting on the issue would provide some solace, however NONE of these have been offered. The 'apparent' best the lady could offer me was a 1 night's credit for when we returned.

2nd night here and again trying to sleep through extremely loud doof doof music! Last night it did not stop till 3am. Nothing was done by the owner. We were not warned when told we could camp anywhere! At $30 per night for NO power or water it is horrible. Would not recommend under any circumstances..
