Henry Lawson Caravan Park - Gulgong NSW

Pet Friendly

The Henry Lawson Caravan Park is situated in the historic gold town of Gulgong. The town has a population of 2,000 people and was featured on the original Australian $10 bill. The Henry Lawson Caravan Park is quite a neat well run park with 50 sites of which 20 are available for tourists. Tourist sites are separate from permanents. The park amenities are very good and some nice cabins are available for rent. Some traffic noise is experienced at night from trucks passing through the town. The resident owners are Tim and Cath Lewis. Bookings can be made by telephoning the park and please tell the park that you have seen their photos on Caravan Park Photos. Photos on this page were taken on 31st August 2006.

At 5 pm, empty sites and cabins everywhere, the disinterested and shambolic owner/caretaker (??) had a 3 word answer for me and the lady before me who asked for a cabin ( I enquired for a site)"no,no vacancies ". Obviously not keen for business! Needn't think you can get round it by ringing to book, the phone remains unanswered. Gulgong now off our visit list, what a shame.

    Hi, Foz here,
I have never had to submit a negative report before but sadly a first time for everything.
Unfortunately this park proved to be less than desirable for our weekend in Gulgong.
Booked via parks internet site 4 days prior to arrival as could not get a reply by telephone.
On arrival met Tim who said "hope you have a booking because we're booked out"
As I surveyed the all but empty sites I told him we had an internet booking

SORRY TURN RIGHT AT THE ROUNDABOUT

This caravan park is rundown and overpriced, there is no signage to find it and if you approach it from the north and naturally turn left into town the streets of Gulgong ( a very nice town ) are very narrow (see photo ) and negotiating car and van through here is a nightmare.
But if you turn left at the roundabout it's just on the corner out of sight, with a bit of effort this could be a really nice van park, the powered sights were quite good just the amenities and surrounding areas were a bit scruffy.

WE just loved Gulgong stayed in the caravan park and it was the dirtiest place we have ever seen took us an hour to clean the cabin .. What a shame ?????.
