Poverty Point Camping Area - Great Sandy National Park QLD

Location: Camping area is 6 km from the turn-off on Rainbow Beach Road, which is 13 km south of Rainbow Beach.
Access: The campground can be reached by 4WD only.
Number of sites: Open area without separately defined sites.
Camp sites are suitable for: tent camping beside your car, and camper trailers (with good clearance).
Camp site surface: Sand and/or grass.
Facilities: None.
Open fires: Allowed (except when fire bans or prohibitions apply) in QPWS-provided fire rings only. Refer to the Cooloola Conditions Report (PDF, 331K)* and park alerts on the DERM website for updates. Fuel stoves are preferred.
Generators: Prohibited.
Essentials to bring: Drinking water, fuel or gas stove, rubbish bags, first-aid kit, insect repellent, sunscreen and firewood (untreated mill off-cuts). Collecting wood from the national park is illegal. Read more about things to know before you go.
Bookings: Book online, over-the-counter or by phone. Advance bookings required for holiday periods.
