While in Evans Head we visited the Aerodrome Heritage Museum and saw the newly retired F111. What a plane! You get a tour of this amazing aircraft, all the stats and figures and you will be blown away with what this plane can do. Only $5 for adults, the hanger has been rebuilt from as much reusable materials as possible from the original hanger. It was part of the Evans head training aerodrome used in WW2. Some 1000 pilots who trained here lost their lives in the war. The museum also houses a few other planes, a Tiger Moth, a Mig 15 and a few other light aircraft. Worth a look.
