$5 per person donation to Royal Flying Doctor Service Cameron's Corner is the point in the outback of central eastern Australia where the border lines of the states of Queensland, South Australia and New South Wales meet. Located 1 400 km west of Brisbane, it was named after New South Wales Lands Department surveyor, John Brewer Cameron, who spent two years from 1880 marking the border between NSW and Queensland and erected a post there in September 1880. He placed a wooden marker every mile (1.6km) along the interstate frontier.
It was first explored by Captain Charles Sturt, who in 1844 went in search of a supposed inland sea in the centre of the Australian continent.
According to the Brisbane Courier Mail, the sole permanent resident of the town is Bill Mitchell, who operates the Cameron Corner Store and a golf course[1]. Apparently, it "is a Queensland business with a NSW postcode and a SA telephone number."[2]
The Dingo Fence passes through the corner along the New South Wales border.
Sept 2007. Bill was a great host. I will always remember him because he put us on to the only thing that deters flies. A cedarwood and rosemary roll on. The place is for sale if you have $850,000. New toilet block was supposed to be arriving soon from Moomba.

A couple of mates and I arrived at 'the corner' in April, on our way to Perth. Bill had an industrial thermometer in his car park, 47C. Luckily in the shade it was only 42C!!. Bill was a great host, plying us with sustainence for most of the afternoon. We finally went over the dunes to set up camp, and returned for a hearty evening meal and talk away the evening with Bill and his Lady. If Bill is still there, thank you, Cameron Corner was another highlight on a memorable road trip.

It is a unique place to stand on a spot where three states meet and look at a map and see the exact place in the world your at.Very friendly road house, great beer and steak sandwiches
