BIG4 Brisbane Northside Caravan Village - Aspley QLD

Park has closed down
This caravan park has closed down. The photos are preserved online for historical purposes only.

The BIG4 Brisbane Northside Caravan Village was located in Zillmere Road Aspley 12km north of the Brisbane CBD. The park was very spacious and had excellent facilities. There were 45 tourist sites of which 5 were ensuite. The park was not far from the intersection of Zillmere Road and the Bruce Highway so traffic noise could be a problem at times.

Checked this park today and there is still powered sites and 4 ensuites available even though the park is no longer listed in the Queensland Caravan Parks Directory 2014. There are all the old cabins still intact and people staying in them. There is one amenities block in good condition but nothing has been upgraded except that there are many new relocatable homes being built in a section of the park what used to be available for caravaners.. I hope the caravan section remains for the future but it is still in need of an upgrade be it that it is still fine to stay in.

This park is no longer a big 4 even though it is stated above. It seems to have been turned into a retirement village and long term park now because there are no sites for caravans like there was before. Disappointed but we knew there was something going on at our last visit because the park was getting so run down and the other toilet block being demolished. Another caravan park giving way to developers.

We stayed here again this weekends on a powered site. The park was pretty full but we had no problems in the shower block, considering that the other block is closed presumed to going to be knocked down to make room for the new over 50s resort in the park. The emenities could do with a renovation but they are in usable condition with plenty of hot water. The park seems to alow dogs now because we say several small dogs in the park, but maybe only allow small dogs.

The park seems to have new owners or managers. They are really nice people and we needed our caravan put onto the site because it was a steep site and they were quite happy to with their tractor. We like staying at this park but sometimes help is needed because some sites are a bit steep.

We like this park because it is close to the train station so it is really easy to get into the city. The park is fairly quiet considering there is a fairly busy road that runs past it. that said, the closer to the road you are the more noise you will hear. We stay in the ensuites with our caravan and they are a nice size. There are drive through sites that are ensuite which are fully concreted, the only problem is that you might not be able to put out your awning. The only down side to the park is it is the only park we have stayed in that will charge you extra if you go over your power usage although we have yet to be charged with extra when we have stayed there. Dont let it put you off, the park is easy to get to and definately recommend staying here.
