Tallow Beach is an unpatrolled beach where you can swim, surf and fish. Box Head walking track and Flannel Flower walking track are nearby. No barbecues are provided and wood fires are not permitted (fuel stoves only).
Activities: day walking, surfing, swimming, fishing

Getting there: The campground is a 1.2km hike from the car park, down a steep, rough fire trail. It is a fairly strenuous hike and is not recommended for elderly or very young campers. All of your camping equipment and drinking water must be carried to your campsite from the car park. We recommend the use of a wheelbarrow or similar to make carrying your equipment easier. Note that your return hike is uphill for the entire 1.2km.

Water supply: No water is available at the site, all water must be carried in.
Bookings: Bookings are essential, especially in peak periods. Contact NPWS Gosford Office on Ph (02) 4320 4203 between 9.00 am and 3.00pm, Mon - Fri. WALK IN ONLY : Closest point to drive and park is on sealed roads, from there it is on foot to the campsite. 40.5 km NNE of Sydney. From the gate and car park at the end of Hawke Head Drive, there is a 1km walk to the campsite. There is a long walk into this campsite. There are a total of 6 campsites. There are a few nice walks and a beach to explore, but no water supply. The beach is not patrolled. The campsite is perched up on the hill, away from the beach. Trees offer some shelter from easterly winds. Usually busy during holiday periods.
