Brownhill Creek Tourist Park - Mitcham SA

Brownhill Creek Tourist Park is situated in Brownhill Creek Road, Mitcham which is a quiet recreation park surrounded by hills and native bushland. Mitcham is located 8km south of Adelaide and the park is easy to access from the South Eastern Freeway. The park has 90 sites and 5 of these are ensuite. TV reception is poor in the area so the park provides a lead for you to be able to plug in to their system.

Amenities are very good and in lovely stone buildings. The park is in a quiet location and there is no through traffic. A secure entrance facility operates at night. This park is a lovely quiet park set in between the hills. It has good road access and is not far from the city yet it feels like you are miles away. Most sites are level but none have annex slabs. All roads are sealed in the park. There is 2 toilet blocks but one has only 1 shower and toilet in ladies and the same in the mens. There are 6 ensuite sites. There is a basic but under cover BBQ area with pizza oven and 2 gas BBQs and picnic tables. There is also a camp kitchen but is a bit of a walk to from the van sites and a very long way from the unpowered sites. There is an easy to access dump point. The unpowered sites are quite a walk from the amenities but is set in lovely location. There is a TV room and a basic but well shaded pool in front of the office. There is a play ground but is a not well maintained and is old. Staff are very helpful. The cabins are not luxurious but do the job, the basic one we stayed in was quite old but had all we needed in it and was very clean. It looked over the creek area and was nice to sit on the deck. Across the quiet road is the start of some nice walking tracks. Mobile phone reception is pretty bad so don't rly on it. Within the park is a 400 year old River Red gum tree and a foundation stone from an old church that burnt down in bushfires many years ago. Would definitely stay here again.
